Science journals must use unique, permanent identifiers for their content. These identifiers enable researchers to locate papers easily and precisely and enable indexing services to better understand where cited information comes from.
We are currently implementing two permanent identifier solutions for our client organisations:
Document Object Identifiers (DOI) provided through Crossref
and
Archival Resource Keys (ARK) developed by the California Digital Library (CDL)
